This is wishing His excellency, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, the president and commander in chief of the arm forces Federal Republic of Nigeria a Happy Birthday and many more years ahead as he marks his 56th year on earth today.

Lagos Auto Crash: Eight killed, Eleven injured.


According to the Punch,
tragedy struck in the Oshodi area of Lagos State on Tuesday after a truck belonging to the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Church lost control, killing and injuring many people.
Many eyewitnesses at the scene gave conflicting reports of the number of people killed and wounded in the accident.
The number of the dead ranged between 12 and 20. But police authority confirmed that only six people died, while five people were wounded.

ANAMBRA ELECTION: INEC to decide date of supplementary election tomorrow.

The leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission may meet in Abuja on Thursday to deliberate on and take decisions on the flawed Anambra State governorship election.

The PUNCH learnt of this on Tuesday as the All Progressives Congress insisted on total cancellationof the poll.

All the National Commissioners and the Resident Electoral Commissioners, who took part in the inconclusive election on Saturday, are expected to be in attendance at the crucial meeting.

ANAMBRA: Nwoye, Ngige, Uba wants to boycott supplementary election

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday ordered fresh polls in 208 polling units in Anambra State allegedly affected by malpractice in the weekend gubernatorial election in the state.

The three major candidates that ran against the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA’s Willie Obiano, however, demurred and threatened to boycott the supplementary elections as they insisted on total cancellation of the Saturday election which they alleged was completely marred by irregularities.
